I made this SMS interfaced application to quickly create Memes on any phone. You would text the number, and it would return an MMS with the picture generated.

I used Mogreet‘s API for sending MMS, and they actually featured me on their homepage

I used Google Voice with GVMax which is no longer supported.

I used http://www.memegenerator.com to generate the memes.

I used the YOURLS API as a URL shortener to have the urls fit in a text message.

I think the coolest part of this project was creating the iPhone interface for the Web Application. It functions and looks like a real iPhone (before iOS7). The texts popup as they are typed and responded to, and all the elements are the correct color and almost the right shape.
